The MARS Heavy Duty Retractable Dog Leash is built for dogs that need a strong, reliable lead on every walk. The reinforced cord and robust ABS housing are designed to withstand the demands of larger or more active dogs, while the one-button lock gives you instant control when you need it.

Key Features

  • Heavy-duty retractable mechanism for stronger breeds
  • Reinforced cord for improved durability under load
  • One-button lock and release for quick control
  • Anti-slip ergonomic handle
  • Available in XS, S, M, and L sizes to suit all breeds
  • Multiple colour combinations: Orange/Black, White/Black, and Pink
  • Durable ABS housing

Why choose this leash for active dogs?

Light-duty retractable leashes can snap or jam when subjected to the force of a larger dog at full sprint. The MARS is constructed with heavier-gauge internal components that are rated to handle greater tension without failure. For South African dog owners who walk their pets in parks, along the beachfront, or on hiking trails, a leash rated for genuine heavy-duty use is a worthwhile investment in both safety and longevity.

What weight does each size support?

XS is rated for dogs up to approximately 8kg, S for dogs up to 15kg, M for dogs up to 30kg, and L for dogs up to 50kg. Always choose the size rated for your dog's weight or higher for maximum safety.

How long is the retractable cord?

The cord extends up to 5 metres on all sizes, giving your dog room to explore while keeping them within a safe and manageable distance. The one-button lock allows you to fix the cord at any length.

Is the cord replaceable if it wears out?

The retractable mechanism and cord are integral to the housing unit. If the cord becomes frayed or damaged, we recommend replacing the leash unit entirely rather than attempting a repair, to ensure the braking mechanism continues to function safely.
